Specialty Training
TEACHING EXCEPTIONAL SKILLS TO ANY DOG
Total cost for the 6-week course is $100. These classes will focus on socialization skills, handling exercises, sit, down, come when called, and skills to prevent or correct problem behaviors such as jumping up on people, biting, chewing, digging, barking, etc… Dogs must be at least four months old and current on all required vaccinations to attend this class. Tracking
Tailored to individual owner’s and dog’s goals and abilities. Owners are familiarized with scent and how it is affected by terrain and weather. Actual tracking classes will meet at a prearranged location and travel to field to be used for laying tracks. Dogs will learn to follow track with at least two turns and indicate at least two articles dropped on the track.
Search & Rescue
Tailored to individual owner’s and dog’s goals and abilities. Skills taught for those interested in participation in Search & Rescue Unit K-9 operations.
Cadaver Training
Tailored to individual owner’s and dog’s goals and abilities. Skills taught for those interested in participation in Search & Rescue Unit K-9 operations.
Therapy Dog Training (TDI) & Testing
Tailored to individual owner’s and dog’s goals and abilities. Heavy emphasis on control and socialization (sights, sounds, locations, smells, medical equipment, etc…). Therapy Dog Evaluation given when dog is ready. Test is a pass/fail test.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Training & Testing
On-leash obedience skills are challenged with more difficult distractions. All skills required to test for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) requirements are taught. Test will be administered at the end of the course. CGC is a pass or fail test.
Behavior Modification Counseling & Re-Traininig
Background and history are gathered. Based on information collected & observations, a course of action is recommended. If owner agrees to work to resolve issues, an action plan is formulated and regular training sessions are scheduled.
