Mike Burk is a Professional Dog Trainer in the Imperial Valley and has over 35 years of success in training happy dogs of all shapes and sizes. This success is evident in the number of repeat clients returning time after time with new dogs to be trained and the countless number of client referrals from both previous clients and local veterinarians.

Prior to attending the Balu Academy for Dog Trainers, Mike had already distinguished himself in the Obedience competition arena with his German Shepherd, Kai. Mike titled Kai to all three levels of AKC obedience (CD, CDX, & UD). In 1983 Kai was ranked #5 in the Nation as a Utility Dog, AKC’s highest level of obedience competition.

Mike was the 42nd person in the State of California to be licensed to train dogs for all types of bite work (Protection Dog Operator). He has been licensed by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a researcher to handle schedule 1 and 2 drugs for the purpose of training narcotic detection dogs.
